<image:caption>Hey everyone! I am so excited to be teaching at Blue Horse Riding. I am currently a student at MTSU in the Horse Science Program and have been riding for 13 years and showing for 11 years. I have loved horses since I knew the word horse. As I have furthered my career, that passion has only grown. I have shown a lot in both hunter jumper and western/stock horse, but my forte is horsemanship, ground work, and liberty work with my own horses. I enjoy just existing with them. My biggest joy in teaching has to be watching students grow in confidence and love for the animal. It always inspires me to do better when my students show passion and respect for the animals they ride!</image:caption>

<image:caption>CROSSING CREEKS FARM My relationship with this sweet family began with homeschool tutoring for the boys at Crossing Creeks Farm and, of course, riding lessons after school with their personal horses. However, it did not take long for word to get around to their friends, customers, and guests. Soon I was fully booked for lessons at CCF as well as the other barn I was teaching out of at the time. They have blessed me so much with the opportunity to transition Blue Horse Riding to their farm, utilize their horses in my lesson herd, and teach out of their beautiful facilities.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - Meet Lori</image:title>
<image:caption>I began riding at the age of 10 and quickly found my passion for the show ring. For the next decade, I competed at Open shows and on the PtHA circuit, traveling the country each summer and earning multiple national titles in Showmanship, Horsemanship/Equitation, Trail, and Western Riding. While attending Middle Tennessee State University, I was a member of the Equestrian Team, where I had the opportunity to further refine my skills under the guidance of Coach Anne Brzezicki. During this time, I also discovered my love for Ranch Horse competitions. With decades of experience in the saddle, I enjoy sharing my knowledge with students of all ages. I believe that a strong foundation in horsemanship not only builds skilled riders but also fosters confidence, discipline, and a deeper connection with the horse.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - MEET the owner</image:title>
<image:caption>Hello! My name is Hayden Buntin. I am the owner and an instructor of Blue Horse Riding. I fell in love with horses at a young age and discovered my passion for teaching throughout my years of education. I received a B.S. in Animal Science with a concentration in Horse Science and a M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision with a concentration in Agriculture Education Leadership from Middle Tennessee State University. It has been the neatest experience to watch this lesson program grow from the one-woman show it was to an incredible team of instructors in a very short time. I could not serve our barn family without these talented ladies by my side! I love the variety of teaching young kids, teenagers, and adults of different skill levels. So, whether you or your child are riding for the first time, brushing up on some old skills, or are ready to advance to the basics of jumping and horsemanship, I would love to talk with you about lessons with Blue Horse Riding.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - meet kaitlyn</image:title>
<image:caption>Kaitlyn started riding around 7 years old and has been hooked since. She grew up in Chattanooga where she rode as a hunter rider. She bought her first horse, Gemini, when in 8th grade. They competed in the hunter ring for a few years before her horse needed to retire due to injury. For the next year she leased an appendix quarter horse where she was able to move up in the hunter classes. When she began college in 2012 she found a horse that needed a home for free. She took the leap of faith and brought Kiss home. He was an off the track thoroughbred that hadn’t been ridden in about 5 years. She restarted him and had him for 5 years where they moved up in the levels in the jumper ring. While this was happening, Kaitlyn started working in the horse industry in 2013. She began as a working student then moved up to assistant trainer, riding instructor and barn manager. She has been teaching consistently since 2013 and has found a true passion for teaching kids how to ride and help kids express themselves through horseback riding. In 2017 Kaitlyn went to MTSU where she minored in horse science. Going to MTSU taught her a lot about horse behavior and how to be a better riding instructor. After graduating in 2019, she was able to bring home an MTSU horse, Lancaster, for two summers to help keep him in shape and become more confident over fences. Today, Kaitlyn works at Blue Horse Riding where she focuses on hunter/jumpers and dressage riding!</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Horses - Xman</image:title>
<image:caption>X-man came to us with such a neat background. When he was owned by the Ohio Sate Equestrian team, he taught college students & went to shows with them. Then, he was a summer camp horse and made so many children happy. He then began his next stage of life with us. He was the sweetest old man who gave confidence to timid riders and plodded around carrying the littlest ones.</image:caption>

<image:caption>She’s the cutest little 13 hand pinto pony with a puppy dog personality. Fun fact: she’s the only horse I’ve bought over Facetime! She teaches our walk/trot riders all the way up to our over fences riders, but her favorite thing so far seems to be trail riding.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Ace was generously given to me after I fell in love with him while teaching lessons for a sweet family. He traveled the country and saw it all. Ace loved to show everyone all that he learned from his previous owner, an incredibly talented horsewoman who put so much time, effort, and care into making him the horse he was. I’m so glad we got the blessing of loving him too.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Horses - Meet LEvi</image:title>
<image:caption>At just 41” at the wither, Levi is the smallest addition to the lesson herd. He did not have extensive riding experience when I purchased him, but he continued to impress us with his ability to quickly learn new skills and now enjoys trail riding and even jumping cross rails! This little man has also earned the bragging rights of being the bravest horse on the property as the only one who wants to befriend the farm pigs.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Horses - Butch</image:title>
<image:caption>Butch was a 15.2 hand Quarter Horse gelding. Butch spent many years on the trail taking his family on all kinds of adventures and building his reputation as a trustworthy mount for all. He was the first horse I began to instruct lessons with at CCF, so he laid the foundation for several of my current riders.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Horses - meet scout</image:title>
<image:caption>Scout is a 14.1 hand American Paint Horse cross gelding. His sweet, calm personality wins over everyone who rides him. He is patient and steady with beginners and loves when his students are ready for jump lessons. He was a trail horse when I purchased him, but he quickly became a jack of all trades. He was my first personal horse, so he will always hold a very special place in my heart.</image:caption>

<image:title>Learning Levels Curriculum - Learning Levels Classes</image:title>
<image:caption>Affectionately abbreviated to “Colors Class”, these classes meet once per week for an hour. This series is only $100/month! Each level takes approximately 8 weeks to complete. We have new groups starting periodically throughout the year, so feel free to reach out to join in! Adding Horse Sense Learning Levels — our structured, unmounted group classes — to our horseback riding lesson program is essential for creating well-rounded, safe equestrians. These classes build a foundation of knowledge, skills, and habits that translate directly to better performance and safer practices in the saddle. Why unmounted group classes matter Core knowledge: Riders learn horse behavior, basic equine anatomy, tack identification, and grooming techniques in a focused setting. Understanding how a horse thinks and what its body needs reduces miscommunication and prevents common safety issues. Improved communication: Groundwork classes teach riders how to use clear, consistent cues and body language. That clarity makes transitions to riding smoother and reduces confusion for both horse and rider. Confidence-building: Group settings let learners observe peers, ask questions, and practice without the added pressure of being on a moving animal. That supportive environment accelerates learning and helps nervous riders become calmer and more competent. Group classes foster respect for barn etiquette, shared responsibilities, and collaborative problem-solving. Consistent progress tracking: The Horse Sense Learning Levels provide a clear curriculum and milestones. Instructors and students can track growth in knowledge and practical skills, ensuring readiness before advancing to more challenging work. Group dynamics for all ages and levels: Lessons are adaptable — from young beginners learning basic horse care to advanced students learning equine first aid and nutrition. Outcomes you can expect Fewer accidents and mishandling incidents due to better understanding of horse behavior and safer routines. More confident, independent riders who can participate in barn life responsibly. Knowledge gained regarding equine health, first aid, breeds/types, trailer safety, tack fitting, pasture management, and so much more. Skills gained such as tying safety knots, correctly blanketing a horse, applying bandages, lunging horses, catching horses in a herd, etc. Increased compassion for the horses who partner with us in our riding journey. A stronger safety culture at our barn as riders, parents, and staff share a common language and expectations. Incorporating Horse Sense Learning Levels into our horseback riding program is an investment in rider safety, skill, and confidence. These unmounted group classes create the knowledge base and habits that let riders get the most out of their time in the saddle while keeping everyone — horses and humans alike — safer and more successful.</image:caption>
